Science & Tech

GlucoseDAO is a healthtech initiative building open-source tools that help people understand and predict glucose dynamics, with a focus on reducing uncertainty in daily decision-making.

The idea grew from lived type 1 diabetes experience and continuous glucose monitoring observations during the pandemic. The team expanded around a shared mission: combine scientific rigor, machine learning, and usable product design to support both people with diabetes and broader metabolic health use cases.

Key components include the Sugar-Sugar Game — a browser-based tool where participants predict blood glucose trajectories from real CGM data — an open-source data standardization pipeline, and transformer-based model benchmarking for glucose prediction.

GlucoseDAO operates in collaboration with Universitätsmedizin Rostock (IBIMA), with ethics clearance for a formal human-vs-AI benchmarking study.
